Hill jatra, a festival of agriculturists and pastoralists is celebrated in parts of pithoragarh District in the state of Uttarakhand , India. It has basically come to the Sor valley from Sorar (mahakali) region of West Nepal. This festival was first introduced in the Kumaor village. भिटौली

भिटौली का सामान्य अर्थ है भेंट यानी मुलाकात करना। उत्तराखंड की विषम भौगोलिक परिस्थितियों, पुराने समय में संसाधनों की कमी, व्यस्त जीवन शैली के कारण विवाहित महिला को सालों तक अपने मायके जाने का मौका नहीं मिल पाता था। ऐसे में चैत्र में मनाई जाने वाली भिटौली के जरिए भाई अपनी विवाहित बहन के ससुराल जाकर उससे भेंट करता था।उपहार स्वरूप पकवान लेकर उसके ससुराल पहुंचता था। भाई बहन के इस अटूट प्रेम, मिलन को ही भिटौली कहा जाता है। सदियों पुरानी यह परंपरा निभाई जाती है। इसे चैत्र के पहले दिन फूलदेई से पूरे माहभर तक मनाया जाता है….पूरा पढ़े । 

रक्षाबंधन 

रक्षाबंधन पूरे भारत देश में काफी खास माना जाता है। इस दिन सभी बहनें अपनी भाईयों की कलाई पर राखी बांधकर भाई का मुंह मीठा करती हैं। भाई की कलाई पर राखी बांधकर उस दिन ये प्रेम और भी मजबूत हो जाता है। सभी भाई अपनी बहनों की रक्षा के लिए प्रण लेते हैं। वहीं, रक्षाबंधन के पीछे एक धार्मिक कहानी है जो की मां लक्ष्मी और राजा दैत्यराज बलि पे आधारित है। धार्मिक कथाओं के अनुसार एक बार राजा बलि स्वर्ग को पाने के लिए एक कठिन तपस्या कर रहे थे, और साथ ही उन्होंने इसी के साथ अस्वमेघ यज्ञ का आयोजन भी किया था। वहीं उनके भय के कारण दूसरे राजा और उनके साथ अन्य देवता भगवान विष्णु जी के पास पहुंचे, उन्होंने भगवान विष्णु को सारी बातें बताई जैसे सुनकर विष्णु जी ने अपना वामन अवतार धारण किया और फिर भगवान विष्णु जी राजा बलि के पास भिक्षा मांगने निकल पड़े। वहीं दैत्यराज बाली भगवान विष्णु के वामन अवतार को पहचान नहीं पाए।….. पूरा पढ़े । 

Ganga Dussehra

Ganga Dussehra is a spiritual festival which is celebrated in India every year in month of Jyeshtha during the Shukla Paksha on the tenth day (Dashami Tithi). This festival most probably falls in the month of May or June. The mythological history of this festival refers to the origin of maa ganga from heaven to earth as a result of bhagiratha’s penance. Devotees take dip in the holy river and worship maa ganga whole heartedly , sing devotional songs and even meditate for hours at the banks of maa ganga . Kandali Festival

KANDALI is a festival of Uttarakhand that is celebrated by the Rung tribe of Chaudans region in Pithoragarh district to rejoice the defeat of Zorawar Singh’s Army which came to attack the region in 1841 from Ladakh. This festival is also known as kirji festival and is celebrated between August and October in accordance with the blooming of the flowers of Kandali which happens once in every 12 years. घुघुतिया

घुघुतिया – उत्तराखंड में घुघुतिया त्योहार खिचड़ी त्यौहार अनेक नामों से जाना जाता है उत्तराखंड राज्य के कुमाऊं में मकर संक्रांति पर ‘घुघुतिया‘ के नाम एक त्योहार मनाया जाता है। इस त्योहार की अपनी अलग ही पहचान है। त्योहार का मुख्य आकर्षण कौवा है।बच्चे इस दिन बनाए गए घुघुते कौवे को खिलाकर कहते हैं– ‘काले कौवा काले घुघुति माला खा ले‘।। घुघुतिया त्यौहार अनेक स्थानों में मनाया जाता है विशेष रूप से बागेश्वर में विशेष प्रसिद्ध मेला लगाया जाता है.. पूरा पढ़े ।

सेल्कू उत्सव

सेल्कू उत्सव -आज हम इस  अनुसंधान को मुखबा ग्राम, बड़ाहाट उत्तरकाशी के लोगों को समर्पित करता हूं। मुखबा, जिसको मुखीमठ भी कहा जाता है, यह पवन धाम हिमालय की गोद में बसा मां गंगा का मायका माना जाता है। मोक्ष दायानी पतित पावनी भागीरथी नदी पर स्थित सुंदर पारंपरिक वास्तुकला वाला यह एक अनोखा गांव है। गांव में 400 से ज्यादा साल पुराने घर देखने योग्य है। लकड़ी पर हाथ से नक्काशी का काम मनमोहक है। यहां पहुंच कर ऐसा लगता है जैसे समय से पीछे आ गए हो। हर साल मुखबा में भादों के महीने में सेलकू नाम का एक अनोखा उत्सव बड़ी धूम धाम वा उत्साह से मनाया जाता है….पूरा पढ़े । 

इगास बग्वाल

इगास बग्वाल उत्तराखंड का एक लोक प्रिय पर्व है यह दिवाली के ग्यारह दिन बाद मनाया जाता है गढ़वाली भाषा में इगाज का मतलब होता है एकादशी वैसे ही बग्वाल का अर्थ है दिवाली यानी की कार्तिक मास की एकादशी को होने वाला त्योहार उत्तराखंड की भाषा में इगास बग्वाल कहलाता है।इगास बग्वाल को खूब जोश और उमंग के साथ मनाया जाता है। घरों में सफाई कर दिये जलाए जाते हैं। इस दिन पर्वतीय क्षेत्रों के लोग अपने गाय बैलों को पौष्टिक भोजन करते हैं। यहां तक की उनके गले में माला पहनाकर, उनके सींघों में तेल लगाकर उनकी पूजा की जाती है…पूरा पढ़े । 

खतडुवा त्यौहार

खतडुवा त्यौहार – उत्तराखण्ड (उत्तराखंड) में लगभग प्रत्येक संक्रान्ति  के दिन त्यौहार मनाने की परम्परा है। इसी क्रम में आश्विन मास की संक्रांति के दिन उत्तराखंड के कुमाऊँ मंडल के लोग खतडुवा लोक पर्व मनाते हैं।अनेक गांवों में बड़े उल्लास से खतडुवा त्योहार मनाया जाता है।इस त्योहार में रात्रि के समय छिल्लों के प्रकाश में एक विशेष रूप से बनाये पुतले को, चौराहे में खड़ा कर आग दी जाती है। खतड़ुआ  शब्द “खातड़” या “खातड़ि” शब्द से लिया गया है, जिसका अर्थ है रजाई या अन्य गर्म कपड़े।भाद्रपद की शुरुआत (सितम्बर मध्य) से पहाड़ों में जाड़ा शुरु हो जाता है। यही वक्त है जब पहाड़ के लोग पिछली गर्मियों के कपड़ों को निकाल कर धूप में सुखाते हैं और पहनना शुरू करते हैं…पूरा पढ़े ।
